Nice place, at least from the outside. Was there during the lockdown and ordered a very tasty waffle with powdered sugar. Very friendly staff and the waffle was freshly made. The apple strudel also looked great but I spotted it too late although it actually catches the eye.

We stopped here on the Sunday before the 2nd lockdown. The service was nice and courteous and responded to our requests. Unfortunately the Pulled Pork Burger was no longer available, the Jägerschnitzel ordered as an alternative was unforgivable for a home-style restaurant and was more suitable for a Turkish snack bar. For € 15.80 I expected more, unfortunately in vain.

Unfortunately not recommended. Unfriendly service. Waffles with lukewarm, old cherries from the glass ... 🤢 Homemade cake from the large bakery. It is a shame that the gastronomy on the square thinks that they no longer have to make an effort. Tourist trap!

Beautiful view!!!

The service was very courteous and friendly, despite the many (waiting) customers. It was very clean and the food (Bergische Waffel) and the coffee were very tasty. The price was reasonable but could be a little cheaper. But the ambience was great and I liked it very much, luckily there are not only "modern" restaurants. Gladly again on your next visit with ddm Motorrad.

My sister and I were there too together and each of us ordered something different I can say I tried a pinch of each and it was really good, the tables at the place were immaculately cleaned and the chairs were extremely comfortable, I can do this I really recommend the restaurant! Not only the attentive restaurant staff was the big hit during our visit, but also the great atmosphere.

I go there every now and then because of the wonderful scenery. The staff is friendly and the ambience is very classic, which I only find partially beautiful, but I rate it neutrally here. Last time I ordered the Bergische Kaffeetafel with friends from outside. The food wasn't particularly good. Apart from the classic things, like the rusks or the cake, the bread was dry and the sausage products were very thinly sliced ​​and not particularly tasty. It always annoys me when the quality is turned away. The waffle and rice pudding were delicious and certainly the best on the table. With the prices you pay for the view, which would be okay if you are just the waffle. A good thing about the visit was that there were enough children's chairs. Since I was there during the “corona time”, I can say that the restaurant obviously implements all the requirements.

Wow, just wow how abysmal a place can be... There is literally nothing I can speak good about... Well, the view is indeed nice, but everything that is under control of the owner is horrible: lazy and unfriendly service, food is mostly (all?) processed and convenience, there is literally less paint on the window frames than on them, the carpet looks like from 1919, old and chapped furniture.... Do NOT go there.

The dishes are all very good! The hygiene concepts are strictly adhered to. Great view from the inside of the mountainous country. Only the waitress who served outside is unfortunately puffy and cheeky, which gives the WHOLE a bitter aftertaste! A pity...

The Counts of Berg already knew why they chose this location. If you settled down in this beautiful restaurant in the afternoon, you could not only enjoy the beautiful view there. The waffle thieves approaching with the chairlift could also be spotted here early and arrested.

In Corona times, all rules are followed very well here. The pulled pork burger and heaven and earth tasted good, and the currant horn was excellent. Very friendly and brisk service! We were satisfied in the beautiful beer garden.

The food was good, value for money is appropriate for the portinen. Staff not always attentive but friendly. Always trying 😬

Unfortunately, super unfriendly waiter, rolls his eyes when ordering and also brings the wrong one. That wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't treated us in the same unfriendly manner after our complaint. Food was solala .. At almost 8 € for a waffle, we would have expected more.

The view is great, the staff overwhelmed and perhaps therefore unfriendly. Tables are only cleared very slowly. One has been ignored since we arrived (30 minutes now). A table neighbor said that she didn't like the food, so our ladies preferred to just have a waffle. You can't go wrong with that. Typical tourist trap ...

Absolutely unfriendly! My toddler and I accidentally took the wrong entrance !!! For this we were reprimanded and thrown out again! We didn't pass anybody, so no risk ... We just overlooked a sign. We then ate the waffles at the neighbour's house.

Would actually give 0 stars. Salad drowned in oil ... rump steak should. But being medium was well received, not spicy and tasty like a car tire. Not recommendable

Unfortunately I can only agree with the negative reviews. The building is in poor condition, the food is average at best & you can only get it if the service is gracious. The view cannot compensate for this.

A very nice view at the castle castle. We had to wait a little longer for the drinks, but the wait was still reasonable. The food came faster and was also very tasty. However, the operation was either overwhelmed or simply bad mood. It shouldn't be mentioned in front of customers how stressed you are, that has to be clarified internally. I still like to come back again and again.

Fresh quality food with excellent friendly service.

I ate very well here and the staff was very friendly. We could enjoy a great view. I recommend the cafe.

A stone's throw from the castle and in a splendidly panoramic position, it is a family-run establishment that offers traditional, concrete dishes. Service aligned, without fuss but practical and functional. There are also excellent waffles. Very essential wine list, prices all in all contained.

Staff was friendly - even though it was super busy. We had our baptism there and they even put our decorations up! We had the Kaffeetafel (12.80 Euro per person), which was super fun and delicious and plenty (they give u bags to take the left overs home if you like). The view is beautiful and the atmosphere old school, but very fitting. The only things I didnt love were that it was crazy hot and that you can only pay with cash.

The restaurant is located directly on the slope to the cable car, with which you can visit Castle Burg. The name "To the beautiful view" is well chosen in any case. You can look very far into the valley and enjoy the landscape in good weather. Of course you also want to enjoy the food. For the small appetite you can already have a waffle or a coffee. What special offers the restaurant but not. The Bergische Kaffeetafel consists almost exclusively of dry pastry, which can also be bought in every supermarket. Vegetarians do not have much choice. The service seemed very annoying, which she did not try to hide. Hospitality is something else.

Staff is rude to guest. One staff member mumbled stuff when we asked if we could order and they just keep walking past even though they see you sitting there. Asking the guest if they would want to work on the weekends when the guests want to order and complain about the amount of waiting time. Didn’t even get to order anything even though the place was almost empty, waited 30 minutes before we left. Another thing is that they leave dirty dishes on the table for ages before taking it away and crumbs are just getting pushed on the ground or the seats. It’s just bad.

Good place to eat traditional regional food - slightly expensive, but very good quality.

Surprisingly good food and okay prices considering the location. Great view, obviously.
